FS98 Scenery of airport Berlin-Tempelhof (THF)
=====================================================================
Version 2.0 - 10.1999 by Stefan Breuer email: stefan_xxx@yahoo.com

This scenery features the airport of Berlin-Tempelhof known for its
important part in the Berlin Airlift. Berlin´s central airport,
already closed one time in 1975 and re-opened again in 1991 due to
growing traffic after the fall of the Wall is the oldest airport
in the world still in use.

The dynamic and static set coming with this archive is containing new unreleased aircrafts (Crossair Saab B340, Eurowings ATR 42, ATR 72) designed by Jan Visser. Thank´s to Jan once again.

IF YOU ALREADY HAVE VERSION 1 OF THIS SCENERY PLEASE DEACTIVATE / DELETE IT !!!!!!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

COMPATIBILITY NOTE:
The scenery is compatible to Europe 1 Add-On.
Although I do not have any experience with new Europe 1 Pro add-on I assume that it is also compatible.

Add-on installed:

- EURO1 = works with complete THF version
- Berlin 2000 including Berlin-Schoenefeld = works with complete THF version (leaving out THFADDON.BGL
will increase the number of Berlin 2000 buildings visible)
- German Airport 3 series (Tegel Airport) = works only with light THF version
- Airport Tegel Freeware Scenery by M. Huebner = works with complete THF version
- combination of Huebner Tegel + Berlin2000 = leave out THFADDON.BGL
- combination of GA3-Tegel + Berlin 2000 = with light THF version, NO Berlin 2000 buildings visible

Anyhow, in case you notice problems with the visibility of ground polys ("Schlieren") when using the "Normal" scenery version on combinations I did not mention, please use the "light" version which will reduce the complexity of surrounding buildings by using only standard FS buildings.

- The usage of Berlin 2000 add-on in parallel will reduce the frame rate.
- the usage of dynamic and static set in connection with Berlin 2000 can cause drop outs of ground polys due to memory load.
- using GA3 Add-on (Berlin-Tegel) in parallel with this scenery the "very dense" complexity level can cause memory problems since static aircrafts at Tegel will be activated.

PLEASE DO NOT INSTALL THE NORMAL AND THE LIGHT VERSION IN PARALLEL.

WHAT ELSE?
Everybody knows it, but again, FSPatch1 must be installed!!!
I decided to switch off the shadowing of all 3D object structures
You should have a 3dfx card installed.

The scenery is complex and may slow down systems Frame Rate.
To keep up the rate in a range which is acceptable some items do have a
lower visibility range, which simply means that you will see them only
from a distance lower than approx. 300 m (taxiwaysigns).

Especially on final approach to the airport and for takeoff you should do the following:
- reduce the complexity level to SPARSE or VERY SPARSE
- on NORMAL mode which is default you will see all details.
- activate the ZOOM (+) Option to reduce the view angle.
Although FS98 also draws objects which are out of the
visible sector you will gain some Frames.
- deactivate the dynamic and static aircrafts.

INSTALL:

You will find 3 BGL Zip archives:
1. BGL-MUST (containing the MUST install files)
2. BGL-NORMAL ( containing the files installed NORMALLY in addition to the MUST files)
3. BGL-LIGHT (containing one file to be installed instead of the NORMAL files)

Open each of the archives and EXTRACT to your FS98 MAIN Scenery directory. A subdirectory called
THF BERLIN with the respective subdirectories Scenery and Texture will be installed automatically.

The file from the BGL-LIGHT archive will be installed in THF BERLIN directory. So it is not used by FS98 for display right after install of the scenery.
If you like to use this file just place it into the THF BERLIN \ SCENERY folder. Cut out the files THFADDON.BGL and
THFPLUS.BGL or rename the suffix to avoid loading by FS98.

Open the Texture.zip archive and extract it to the same MAIN scenery directory. It will be automatically installed
into the correct Texture directory.

Open the Dyn-Texture.zip archive (containing the texture files for the dynamic and static a/c) and extract the content
into FS98 MAIN TEXTURE directory.

After starting FS98 go to the Scenery library, add the new scenery in
the respective subdirectory, choose LOCAL, confirm ACTIVE Button.
Then in FS98 menu choose World / Airports (Umwelt/Gehezu/Flughäfen
in the german version) activate the check box "scenery from versions 6...."
